Too much tax payers’ money spent cleaning beaches

Too much tax payers’ money is being spent every summer, cleaning up rubbish left behind on Kerry’s beaches. Banna Beach2 That’s according to Kerry County Council’s Environment Officer, Micháel ó Coileán, who says the local authority would prefer to spend its funds on other projects. He says that while most people are getting the message about litter, far too many people still leave their rubbish behind after a day on the beach. Mr ó Coileán says it’s in everyone’s interest in Kerry, that the beaches are kept as clean as possible during the summer months. And he says Tidy Towns volunteers are particularly aggrieved, that many beach-goers don’t clean up after themselves: [audio_player src=””]
