Three groups chosen to represent Kerry at Pride of Place Competition

Pride of PlaceThe 2015 IPB Pride of Place Awards ceremony will take place in Ennis this evening and will be broadcast live across the world. More than 100 groups nominated by local authorities all over the island of Ireland are participating in this year’s competition, which is regarded as Ireland’s most prestigious all-island community awards. Kerry County Council has nominated three community groups to represent the county at this year’s awards. They are the Kerry Traveller Community Health Initiative, the Kerry Diocesan Youth Service, and Listowel town. Listowel Town is the county’s representative in the ‘population category’, the KDYS was nominated in the category, ‘Young People in the Community Initiative’, while the Health Action Zone of Kerry Traveller Health and Community Development Project has been nominated under the ‘Community Health Initiative’ category. A live steam of the event is being hosted on and from 7:30pm.
