The founder of Focus Ireland is urging the Government to hold a referendum on the right to a home. Focus Ireland Sr Stanislaus Kennedy who is originally from Lispole says there are glaring gaps in the coalition’s attempts to manage homelessness and regulate rents. She told the MacGill Summer School there are now 90-thousand families on the social housing waiting list. Sr Stan Kennedy says the housing crisis is ‘nothing short of indecent’ – and the Government should protect the right to a home.
