Taxi drivers report little demand for wheelchair accessible taxis

Taxi drivers in Killarney have hit out at the suggestion that they are not providing an adequate service for wheelchair users. Brian Mc Carthy of the association in Killarney says many wheelchair users use contract services as booked through facilities like Cheshire homes or the health service executive. He says most operators on the rank find little demand for wheelchair accessible taxis because it`s mostly contract work.
