Taxi drivers in Tralee are blaming the absence of reminders and renewal notices for their current difficulties renewing their licences. A number of drivers could now be off the road because they say they were not made aware of new Government regulations which stipulate they must produce a tax clearance cert in order to renew their licence. Jerry Boyle is acting PRO of the Tralee Taxi Association. He says the public may now suffer as without the cert, drivers don’t have insurance cover and therefore cannot operate.
