A member of the Dingle Hospital Support Group says they feel vindicated by their actions in lobbying for the construction of a new hospital for the region. Minister John O Donoghue has announced that the Tanaiste has given her approval to allow for the progression of its overall capital programme this year.The 72 bed facility will replace the existing hospital. It’s to include beds for continuing care, rehabilitation, respite and direct admissions by the local GP`s as well as a day care centre and an ambulance base. Bridget O Connor says their action shows pressure from lobbyists does work.
