Workers at Cadbury’s in Dublin are be balloted on a deal that’s led to the suspension of strike action at the plant. The strike by SIPTU and UNITE members was suspended last night, after the Workplace Relations Commission put forward new proposals. The strike began on Thursday as part of a dispute over the company’s decision to out-source around 17 jobs a the factory. UNITE says the WRC plan involves cost-saving measures that do not require the out-sourcing of jobs. Cadbury staff in Ireland, including its 80 plus employees in Rathmore where there is no dispute, had been put on protective notice.
