Division 6B
Final
Tuosist 5-13 Kenmare 4-14

As had been the case when the sides met in the opening game of the league in Lauragh there was little between the sides again in this nine goal thriller of twists and turns. Kenmare were bolstered by the addition of a number of 'A' panelists while Tuosist welcomed the return of Dara Sugrue and Mark Torpey both of whom had missed the opening round. Tuosist however were dealt a blow in the lead up to the final with the loss of midfielder Gary Harrington to an ankle injury.

Tuosist courtesy of goals from Dara Sugrue and Mark Torpey (2) controlled the opening half and held a strong lead of 3-08 to 0-07 points at the interval.

Kenmare came more into the game in the second half. Tuosist found themselves a man down after Peter O'Shea received a black card and Kenmare were quick to take advantage of their numerical advantage with Tom Murnane, Kevin Price and Brian Clifford all finding the Tuosist net. Indeed they could have had a fourth goal only for a super finger tip save by Tuosist goalkeeper Stephen O'Sullivan which deflected off the crossbar to safety. Kenmare were not to be denied a few moments later when Cian Hanley goaled to send them into a two point lead. It was all Kenmare at this stage and with normal time almost up Kenmare added a further two points and looked to have sealed victory with a four point lead. Kenmare held possession in an attempt to play out the clock. Then two minutes into injury time Peter O'Shea intercepted and cut through the Kenmare defence and in a fine solo effort finished with a well taken goal which left the Kenmare goalkeeper with no chance to leave the narrowest of margins between the sides. Tuosist again gained possession from the Kenmare kickout and who better than man of the match Dara Sugrue to crash the ball to the back of the Kenmare net to hand a memorable victory to the lads from the Beara Peninsula.
