The President of IT Tralee Students’ Union says the refusal by two insurance companies to cover cars that are over 15 years old is “an attack on young people”. IT Tralee Students' Union Ben Slimm says the restrictions will force people to move to urban centres because they can’t afford to buy newer cars. Aviva and Allianz won’t insure older cars even if they have a valid NCT cert because they say they’re more likely to be involved in collisions. The rule only applies to new customers. Mr Slimm says young people are already paying higher premiums. He’s afraid other insurers will follow suit. [audio_player src=””]
