Street sculpture highlighting human trafficking appears in Tralee

A street scultpture designed to highlight human trafficking has arrived in Kerry.

The Gift Box symbolises how traffickers entice their victims with false promises, but once inside this large temporary installation, a different reality is presented.

The tour is a joint initiative from the Loreto Sisters and Act to Prevent Trafficking with the support of the Department of Justice.

According to APT people-trafficking is the fastest growing means by which people are enslaved, the fastest growing international crime, and one of the largest sources of income for organised crime.

Gift Box is in residence today and tomorrow in Manor West Retail Park.
