Star WarsThe producers of Star Wars say they are thrilled to be returning to Ireland for filming this Summer. Filming for Star Wars: Episode VIII will take place at the Western tip of the Dingle Penisula in May. Plans are also underway to film at Malin Head in Donegal. According to the Irish Times, Candice Campos, vice president of physical production at Lucasfilm, said that the beauty of Skellig Michael was stunning, and the new locations along the Wild Atlantic Way, will prove equally as beautiful in Star Wars. A 1.5km metal roadway track is currently being installed by contractors at Ceann Sibeál to allow for crew to access the site. Key scenes in Star Wars: Episode VII featured Sceilig Mhíchíl off the South Kerry coast.
