Funding of 679,000 euro has been announced for South Kerry. The grant is part of another round of minor health projects in Clar areas in the south of the county. A total of 15 projects from Glencar to Kenmare to Caherciveen will benefit from the funding which will include the construction of new buildings and the upgrading of facilities. The money will come from the Health Board, local community groups and Clar. The largest project listed is the construction of a day care centre in Coiste Forbatha Na Sceilge at a total cost of 400,000 euro. The announcement was welcomed by Minister John O Donoughue and Deputy Thomas McEllitrim.
