Up to 100 social and affordable housing units will be provided in the county by the end of the year under the provisions in the planning act. The clause allows the council to request 20 per cent of a development to help reduce its housing list. Liam Quinlan of the council says 50 social and 50 affordable units will be provided by the end of the year. He says people are happy to live beside council housing.
