The President of SIPTU says everyone who has a role to play in the Luas dispute should do everything they can. Luas workers overwhelmingly rejected pay proposals that included pay increases of up to 18-point-7 per-cent, over a period less than three years. The planned strike action means there will be no Luas services in Dublin this Easter Sunday or Monday. Earlier, the acting Transport Minister, Pascal Donohoe, said the strikes are ‘not acceptable’. Jack O’Connor says there’s still time available – before the planned strikes go ahead – to address what he described as “inadequacies” in the proposal.
