Sinn Féin Councillor accuses a Kerry TD of urging the County Council to reject state funding

A Sinn Féin Councillor has accused a Kerry TD of urging the County Council to reject state funding. Pa Daly Councillor Pa Daly claims Deputy Michael Healy-Rae said the €2.2 million worth of funding, which has been allocated for the planned changes to Tralee Town Centre, should not be accepted. The proposed changes include, among others, a reduction in the number of car parking spaces on Denny Street, the relocation of the taxi rank from the Mall, and the introduction of a two-way traffic system on Denny Street. They were both speaking during a public meeting on the matter earlier this week. Councillor Daly says the investment will give a much needed shot in the arm to the town centre, and calls on Kerry County Council to reject Deputy Healy-Rae’s suggestion out of hand. However, the Kilgarvan TD says the councillor’s remarks are inaccurate. [audio_player src=”http://media.radiokerry.ie/mediamanager/embed/audio/57377/medium/”]
