Seven Kerry entries in BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition

Seven Kerry projects are through to the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition 2017.

They’ve made it from over 2,000 entries from secondary school students across the country, into the event which is designed to raise schools’ engagement in science, technology, engineering, and maths.

Three projects from Killorglin Community College, two from Tarbert Comprehensive School, and one each from Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí Tralee and the Intermediate School Killorglin will compete in the RDS Dublin in January.

One of the projects helps blind people to avoid obstacles by wearing sensor glasses, while another is a device that automatically engages the handbrake of a tractor when the operator exits.
