20 complaints from Kerry and Cork have been made to a service dealing with allegations of abuse against vulnerable people in residential care since the beginning of last year. Leigh Gath is the Confidential Recipient for Vulnerable Persons and is a well-known Newry-born disability campaigner. She received 13 complaints from Area Four, which includes Kerry and parts of Cork city and county, in 2015. So far this year there has been seven complaints including one serious allegation. Since the service was launched last year 166 complaints have been received from all over the country.
