The search for a man missing after his boat capsized near Templenoe yesterday has resumed. Iveragh and Castletownbere coast guard units along with Derrynane Inshore Rescue have began searching the inshore area this morning. This is being coordinated by Valentia Coast Guard. The Shannon Coast Guard helicopter has also been tasked. Meanwhile up to 150 local people have been searching the shoreline since 4 O’Clock this morning. Valentia Coast Guard says inshore weather conditions at present are moderate and they will review the situation as the day continues. It is also asking members of the public not to search the shoreline due to the adverse weather conditions and leave the search to members of the Gardaí and Coastguard. The alarm was raised at around 2.30 yesterday afternoon after a boat with two men capsized. One man managed to swim to a nearby island, however the second man remains missing It is understood the missing man is a father of three and is believed to be in his 50’s.
