The search continues today for a Swedish mountain climber who has been missing since Tuesday on McGillicuddy’s Reeks. The missing man is 22-year-old Olos Janson, an experienced climber who learned hiking skills during his military service in the Swedish army. There are up to 100 people taking part in the search today, headed by Kerry Mountain Rescue, which is concentrating on the Mangerton Mountain area, his last known location. Mr.janson is 6 foot 4, and of athletic build, with short light brown hair. He was last seen wearing khaki army trousers, a black jacket and was carrying a large dark coloured ruck sack and a dark green tent. Gardai are appealing to farmers to check their land and outhouses between Kilgarvin and Carantoohil and anyone with information is asked to contact Killarney Gardai on 064 31222.
