The Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland says had everyone taken part in the last survey of radon gas levels in the region, the level would probably be even higher than what is presently recorded. The RPI says it is not in the business of scaremongering however it doesn’t believe many people realise how serious the radon gas situation is in Kerry. Last night’s meeting was organised in response to above average levels being recorded in homes in Tralee and Castleisland.
