Roads re-open across the county following floods

Flood Sign Kerry County Council says that because of an improvement in weather overnight all roads across the county have now re-opended with the exception of the Curra road at Glenbeigh which remains closed following flood damage. However they are warning motorists to be aware of surface water on roads across the county. Kerry Airport and the Tarbert-Kilimer Ferry Service are operating as normal today. Meanwhile the Government’s emergency taskforce has met this morning to assess the latest flooding situation around the country. Land surrounding the lower River Shannon is at particular risk after water flow through the Parteen Weir was increased yesterday. The ESB says it’s carefully monitoring the situation.
