The name of the victim of this morning`s road accident has been released. He was Richard Healy of Sportsfield Drive in Ballyduff. Mr Healy was 24 and single. Gardai say they are appealing for witness’s in connection with the incident. The accident happened at Leagh near Ballyduff before 7 o clock this morning. One vehicle was involved. No body else was injured. It`s expected a post mortem is due to be carried out on the road traffic accident victim at Kerry General later today.This mornings tragedy beings to eleven the number of people who died on the country`s roads in one of the worst weekends of carnage on record. The eight men and two women were killed in collisions in a 24 hour period. Between 4 pm on Saturday to the same time yesterday. Three of those who lost their lives were foreign nationals. The Minister for Transport is to call for a special summit meeting of all Road safety groups in the next fortnight to probe the high level of fatalities.Seamus Brennan is also expected to call on the Minister for Justice to deploy further Garda resources on weekend traffic patrol. The summit comes ahead of the publication of a three year national road safety strategy due out later this month.
