Rights improve for unmarried parents

The situation for unmarried parents in Ireland has improved in the last 30 years according to Treoir, the National Federation of Services for Unmarried Parents and their Children. treoirAssistant Chief Executive Margot Doherty was speaking on the 30th anniversary of the death of 15 year old Anne Lovett and her baby son in a grotto in Granard in Longford. Speaking on the Kerry Today programme this morning Margot Doherty said she believes the tragedy was a catalyst for change in Irish society.
