A rescue operation is currently underway to bring a climber down from Carraunthoill.
The woman, believed to be in her 30s, fell from an area known as The Curve Gully at a quarter to 2 this afternoon.
Crew from Kerry Mountain Rescue were dropped by helicopter to an area close to where she fell, and are currently in the process of stretchering her down the mountain.
However, according to a spokesman for Valentia Coastguard, it could be as late at 8pm tonight before the operation is complete.
This is because of fog and the remoteness of the location where she fell.
It’s understood that the woman is conscious and her injuries are not life-threatening.
