There was a reduction in the number of thefts and related offences in the Kerry Garda Division in the first quarter of this year. New crime figures from the Central Statistics Office show there were 282 thefts recorded in the division between January and March – this was down from 327 in the last quarter of 2014. There was a slight rise in the number of public order and disorderly conduct offences, which totalled 667 in the quarter. There were 13 sexual offences recorded while the number of cases of driving while over the legal alcohol limit was 70. The Kerry Garda Division includes part of west Cork.
