Red Stags will not be allowed to be hunted in Kerry. Minister for the Environment Dick Roche announced that it will be illegal to hunt Red Stages after a controversial decision by the National Parks and Wildlife Service to lift the ban on hunting them for the last 35 years.Licences issued to hunters earlier this year are now being revoked and amended. With shooting season for deer starting next Thursday only Red female deer and antler less deer will be allowed to be hunted and are on the hunted species list. Deer within the Killarney National Park still remain protected.
