Purchase orders to be published next month in order to begin Castleisland by pass

Compulsory purchase orders relating to the proposed Castleisland by-pass are to be published within the next month.The new roadway to the west of Castleisland town will link the n23 at Clashganniv to the n21 at Knockannagore and Dooneen.Kerry county council director of services for roads and transportation, Tom Curran said that it’s hoped that compulsory purchase orders will be confirmed by early next year, with contracts for construction being awarded next autumn.Work would then start at the end of next year and be scheduled for completion in June 2008.The estimated cost of the bypass is 27m euro.
