Puffin found on beach released back into wild

A veterinary practice in West Kerry has been taking care of an unusual patient, found on a beach in Castlegregory. Injured puffin The male puffin was discovered by a tourist on Gowlane Strand on Thursday, who brought him to vet Brendan O’Connell ‘s surgery in Dingle. The bird appeared weak but was otherwise unharmed. It  was released back into the wild on Thursday night. Mr O’Connell said the puffin’s beautiful plumage gave some of his colleagues ideas for ‘Ladies Day’ at Dingle Races next weekend.
