Progress report due in coming weeks on reducing car insurance premiums

A progress report on efforts to reduce motor insurance premiums will be publish in the coming weeks.

That’s according to Minister of State at the Department of Finance Eoghan Murphy who chaired a working group on the matter which published a report with 33 recommendations at the start of the year.

Responding to a question from Kerry Fine Gael TD Brendan Griffin, who sought a timeline for the implementation of the recommendations, Minister Murphy said meeting the objective of fairer premiums requires cooperation from all bodies and stakeholders.

A report will be published in the coming weeks to outline the progress made in the first quarter of the year.
