Poll proves disappointing for Flor McCarthy

Kerry’s first candidate for the top position in the Irish Farmers’ Association has seen a disappointing result in a new opinion poll. Flor McCarthy,  Kerry’s first ever candidate for IFA President who officially launched his campaign, at Kenmare Bay Hotel, on Friday night. Flor is currently  the organisation’s Rural Development Chairman.Photo:Valerie O'Sullivan/NO REPRO FEE****FREE PIC*** The poll is contained in today’s Irish Farmers Journal and sampled 1,000 people living on farms between the 9th and 15th of February. 8 per cent of those polled supported Kenmare man Flor McCarthy’s bid to become president of the organisation compared to 16 per cent for Henry Burns and 26 per cent for Joe Healy. However, 21 per cent were undecided and 29 per cent said they were not planning to vote when polled.
