Plans are underway to open a new outreach centre in Killorglin for Recovery Haven. A public meeting is due to be held in the CYMS hall in the town tomorrow, the aim of which is to gauge public interest in the development. Recovery Haven currently has its headquarters at Haig’s Terrace in Tralee, where it provides counselling, therapies and a drop-in service for people undergoing cancer treatment. It also has an outreach service in Killarney. Organisers of the public meeting, say growing numbers of people in the Killorglin area are being diagnosed with cancer, and that an outreach centre for the south and mid Kerry area would be greatly beneficial.
