Plans for crematorium lodged with Cork County Council

A funeral director in the county says he doesn`t believe there is demand for the establishment of a crematorium in the Munster area. Last night plans for a 2.5 million euro crematorium were lodged with Cork County Council by a Kerry based undertaker and two Tipperary businessmen. If it gets the green light it will be Ireland`s first crematorium outside the greater Dublin area. However Pat Gleasure who had received outline planning permission a number of years ago for a crematorium in Tralee says research shows the demand simply isn`t there.
