Pieta House to centralise services in Tralee

Pieta House is centralising its services in Tralee from the Catherine McAuley House in Balloonagh to Moyderwell.

The suicide prevention charity said the move was necessary because its lease had ended in Balloonagh. The Diocese of Kerry has confirmed its intention to sell the Catherine McAuley House.

Pieta House had taken over the client base of the charity Console last July, and was running its services from the two locations in Tralee, Balloonagh and Moyderwell.

CEO Brian Higgins said it was now consolidating its services at one location and all its staff would work from Moyderwell.

Mr Higgins said furniture donated to the Donal Walsh rooms in Balloonagh are moving to the rooms in Moyderwell, named in memory of the Blennerville teenager, which are used to offer counselling to children and young people.
