Partnership Tra Li has announced it is to seek a number of voluntary redundancies as part of a rationalisation plan. A shorter working week is also to be implemented in certain areas. It`s understood the project workers will not be affected. The bord of the partnership met last night to discuss the budgetary situation. Cuts in funding of up to 17 per cent are being blamed for the cuts in staff numbers.Manager with the partnership Eamon O Reilly says the rationalisation programme will ensure the company`s sustainability as the major local development company in the greater Tralee area up to 2006 and beyond. Up to three redundancies are being sought and a number of administrative staff are to be placed on a shorter working week. Mr O Reilly says alternative working arrangements to facilitate staff retention are being actively worked on.
