Over 2,000 Kerry Group suppliers have signed up for an arbitration process in an ongoing dispute over the price paid for milk last year. The Board of Kerry Co-Op says it had been reported that around 400 suppliers had signed up but this figure is over 2,000 and is growing on a daily basis as instructions continue to be received by the board’s solicitors. Around 3,300 farmers supply milk to Kerry Group. In a statement the board says the matter has been referred to mediation and it will fully engage with that process which is currently in hand. Previously, Kerry Group says it has honoured a commitment to pay the leading milk price on a like for like basis for 2015 as per its contract.
