OPW says no unauthorised access to Skelligs until season opens

The Office of Public Works is increasing measures to ensure there are no unauthorised boat landings on Sceilig Mhíchíl ahead of the official start to the season next month. Despite calls to extend the season, the OPW has said that accessing the island at the moment is a risk as there is significant damage due to the recent winter storms. However it says visitor access will be feasible in time for the start of the official visitor season, which begins on May 14th.
