One million euro in funding has been announced for work on Dingle Harbour. The funding is part of an 18m euro programme for Fishery Harbours and storm damage repairs announced by Minister Simon Coveney. The allocation for Dingle is to be used for workshop design and planning to enable work to commence, for a capital dredging navigation channel, and for a net mending area. Minister Coveney also announced that he would be making 2m euro available for a Local Authority Harbour Programme to help address storm damage at Local Authority owned fishery harbours. The allocation for Dingle has been welcomed by Deputy Brendan Griffin.
