The INMO data show that last month 137 patients were on trolleys in Kerry General compared to 72 during the same month in 2014. From January to October 1,230 patients spent time on trolleys. That was a 62 per cent increase on the same period the previous year. 15 patients were waiting on trolleys today in Kerry General Hospital’s Emergency Department. Nationwide 439 patients were on trolleys. The INMO is to ballot its members next week for industrial action due to the overcrowding crisis.
