The numbers visiting Puck Fair are up on last year according to a spokesperson for the organising committee. Speculation was crowds would be smaller due to the bad weather and the festival being held midweek. However trade in both cattle and horses at Killorglin is brisk. An extra field had to be opened on the first day to cope with the volume of traffic for the horse fair. Cattle sales were up 25 percent on the previous year. Geraldine o Sullivan of the organising committee says despite the bad weather the fair is a success.
