The number of patients on trolleys in Kerry from January to November this year increased threefold compared to 2012.
That’s according to figures from the Irish and Nurses’ Midwives Organisation.
The research shows in the first eleven months of this year 1,548 patients had waited on trolleys in University Hospital Kerry.
That is up 17 per cent on the same period last year when there were 1,322 patients on trolleys.
It is a threefold increase compared to the period in 2012 when 541 patients were recorded on trolleys.
The INMO has also released monthly data for November for the past decade.
This year 208 patients were on trolleys compared to 92 in 2015.
However, that figure had fallen from 128 in 2014.
