Notice of Listowel ‘count afresh’ published

A public notice has been published ahead of the counting of the votes in the Listowel Municipal District for the 2014 Local Elections. Dan Kiely The ‘count afresh’ of the ballot papers begins at John Mitchels GAA complex, Camp, Ballyseedy, Tralee on Wednesday, February 10th. The date was set at the Circuit Court and follows a successful Supreme Court challenge by former Fianna Fáil senator Dan Kiely, who lost out on a seat by two votes. The counting of the 14,929 votes is not considered a ‘recount’ and Kerry County Council is legally required to publish notice of the count afresh at least one week before it happens.
