Nine Kerry schools have been approved for building projects in the coming years. The developments are part of the school building programme for 2016 to 2021. The announcement has been welcomed by Minister Jimmy Deenihan, Deputies Arthur Spring and Brendan Griffin as well as by Senator Marie Moloney. 310 individual major school building projects have been unveiled by the Government today which will proceed to construction between 2016 and 2021. 13 new primary and second-level schools to open in 2017 and 2018. In Kerry nine primary and post-primary schools have been earmarked for works. Next year works will be carried out at CBS Primary School, Tralee, in 2017 building will begin at Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí, Trá Lí and Listellick National School, Tralee. The remaining six Kerry projects have a looser timeline of 2019 to 2021. These are Scoil Naisiunta Clochar Daingean & Scoil na mBraithre, Gaelscoil Lios Tuathail, St. Brendan’s College, Killarney, St Brigid’s Secondary School, Killarney, Scoil Mhuire, Knocknagoshel and Tralee Educate Together.
