Nigerian man demands to be sent back to his own country at Tralee District Court

Tralee courthouse A Nigerian man has demanded to be sent back to his own country asking Tralee District Court to organise a flight home. 42 year old Marcus Akafka appeared before the court for breaching bail conditions including that he stay out of Kerry following a charge of public intoxication and loitering in a public place. Solicitor Pa Daly told the court that Mr Akafka who has no fixed abode was not welcome in Atlas House Accomodation Centre and that accommodation has been organised by the Reception and Integration Agency in Sligo. Judge James O Connor reiterated the bail condition that Mr Akafka stays out of Kerry. However Mr Akafka refused to sign his bail bond and loudly demanded to be sent home to Nigeria saying he was a refugee, an asylum seeker and a person non grata.
