Worrying numbers of young Kerry drivers are not informing their insurance company that they’ve accrued penalty points.
That’s according to Tralee solicitor Pat Mann, who says young male drivers in particular, seem unaware of the consequences of not declaring penalty points. Many of them, he says, only find out the seriousness of the issue, when they need to make a claim, and then discover their policy is null and void. Mr Mann says anyone who aquires penalty points or is convicted of another motoring offence, should inform their insurance company, and not just their broker.
