A veteran of World War II is recuperating in University Hospital Kerry after a fall near Sneem.

92-year-old Captain Max Humphreys, who was rescued on Monday after falling in Ballagh Point, Sneem, is to undergo surgery on a broken femur tomorrow.

Captain Humphreys, who is from Midleton in Cork, served in Burma during the Second World War.
