Work on the Macroom Bypass is currently scheduled to start in the year 2020.
That’s according to Transport Minister Shane Ross who was responding to questions on the matter by Kerry Fine Gael TD Brendan Griffin, yesterday in Dáil Éireann.
Deputy Griffin said the project needs prioritisation and clarity was needed, as various start dates had been mooted:
Minister Ross he was aware the issue had been raised by Deputy Griffin on a number of occasions in the Dáil and he understood it was a legitimate concern.
He said the Ballyvorney to Macroom scheme involves the construction of 22kms of new carriageway, including a bypass at Macroom town with work currently due to start in 2020.
