« BackWork on Central Regional Water Supply to involve up to 150 jobs

Irish WaterUp to 150 jobs will be involved in the upgrading of the Central Regional Water Supply Scheme in Kerry according to Irish Water.

Kerry County Council has announced a €30 million investment in the scheme. The contract has been awarded by Irish Water to Glan Agua Limited.

A spokesperson for Irish Water said it’s envisaged the construction of this new plant will require 150 people working directly on the project at various stages over the two year construction period.

She added that a major infrastructural project like this will also bring many ancillary benefits to the local community such as increased business for local suppliers and the use of local sub-contractors as well as delivering the key project objective of a safe reliable water supply for the region.
