It’s emerged that a woman was arrested by Gardaí investigating the sudden death of a 24 year old man on board an Aer Lingus flight.
The Brazilian national suffered a seizure on board the flight from Lisbon to Dublin, which was diverted to Cork yesterday evening.
The man had earlier become agitated, and had to be restrained.
Another passenger who went to assist the flight crew is believed to have been bitten, and was treated in hospital for his injuries.
Reporter Jonathan Healy in Cork says the woman who was arrested is believed to have been on the same flight:
Gardaí investigating the death of this man interviewed all 168 passengers and 6 crew on board the diverted Aer Lingus flight.
It’s understood the woman was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.
She’s believed to be Portuguese, and living in Ireland, but it’s not yet known whether she knew the man who died.
A post mortem will be carried out later, to establish the cause of death.
