« BackWoman admitted using forged prescriptions at four Listowel pharmacies

Tralee CourthouseA woman who used four forged prescriptions at pharmacies in Listowel has been remanded on continuing bail to appear before Tralee District Court again in October.

Alina Makinen of 73 Killeline Heights, Cork Road, Newcastle West, presented the photocopies of the doctor’s prescription pad between April 1st and 4th to obtain Xanax and Tramadol.

The accountant and mother-of-one, who is originally from Finland, also pleaded guilty to stealing a hammer, the property of the Gardaí on March 22nd.

Her solicitor Pat Mann said she had suffered a brain bleed in a car accident and was unlikely to return to work.

Judge James O’Connor adjourned the matter to October 19th.
