« BackWinter storms lead to further coastal erosion in mid-Kerry

A mid-Kerry resident says winter storms wiped out up to 50 acres of sand dunes on Rossbeigh beach.


Nine households in the Incharee area are engaged in a long campaign to have coastal protection works carried out.

Kerry County Council is currently preparing a submission for funding to the Office of Public Works for the project.

Gerard Burke says residents have constructed two embankments to protect their homes from the sea but sluice gates dating back to the 1800s need to be replaced as a matter of urgency.
